From "The History of Northern Wisconsin for Manitowoc County Wisconsin"   CHRISTIAN ANDERSON, lighthouse keeper, born Dec. 29, 1825, in Norway; August, 1844, came to Racine, Wisc.; in 1845 came to Chicago; July 5, 1846 came to Manitowoc and started a tailor shop which he continued serveral years. He afterward bought a vessel which he sailed several seasons, then sold and bought a farm where he worked about seven years. He then removed to Manitowoc and followed teaming for about two years. Afterward he ran a threshing machine for 2 seasons. He then opened a boarding house which he continued until 1876 when he was appointed lighthouse keeper. Married in 1866 to Sarah Torrison of Norway. They have two children, on son and one daughter. He has four children by a former marriage, three sons and one daughter.

Christian Anderson of this city died on Tuesday after an illness of some weeks. He was for 22 years, the lighthouse keeper at this place, but resigned some months ago because of failing health. He was 72 years old and was one of the early settlers of Manitowoc having come here a few years after Perry Smith.
