Richard E. Arnold, of Gloucester, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2019. He was the treasured husband of the late Lois (Powers) Arnold, devoted father of Janet M. Arnold, Paula M. Wyka and Sally A. Arnold and her husband, Mark Noonan, and cherished grandfather of Nathan W. Noonan, Lyndsay Kilgour, Andrea Wyka and Scott Sullivan, and great-grandfather of Hunter Joseph, Maddie and Teddy Kilgour.
He was predeceased by his dear brothers, Kenneth, Joseph, Paul, Alvin and Robert Arnold, his dear sister Phyllis Wagner, and his son-in-law, Gregory Rigby.
Richie served in the Coast Guard for twenty years including his first assignment on the lightship, Nantucket, and 8 years at Eastern Point Lighthouse. Upon his retirement, he returned to fishing on the Phyllis A, and captained the boat until his final retirement at age 72.
