With reference to Tom Apana, steward on the KUKUI, the medical examination disclosed that he had tuberculosis, and upon further examination by the Public Health Service he has been recommended for retirement on account of disability, effective at the close of June 30, 1939, in accordance with the terms of the Lighthouse Service Retirement Act of March 4, 1925.
