Minnie Herwerth was born the daughter of William and Mary Jane (Hoey) Herwerth. She lived in Redford until after her father’s death, when she came to Plattsburgh with her mother. For many years, she lived with her mother in the Valcour Island lighthouse, coming to make her home in the city after her mother died some 20 years ago.
Miss Herwerth was a dressmaker during most of her adult life. Survivors include a sister-in-law, Mrs. F.J. Herwerth of Bluff Point, and several nieces and nephews.
