Bob Zimmerman of Strong City, KS died Saturday, November 24, 2018 at the Chase County Care & Rehabilitation Center in Cottonwood Falls. He was 93. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1941 until 1962 during WWII and the Korean War. He and June Donner were married and to that union was born three children. They divorced. He and Betty Louraine Haden were married December 15, 1960 in King Co, WA. She preceded him in death on April 30, 2015. Among many jobs following his service, he most enjoyed the 22 years of being a gate attendant at the Council Grove reservoir. A private family service will be held at a later date at the Hillside Cemetery in Toledo Township.
