Rűdiger Fritz Wolfe (68) passed away Sunday July 23,2017. He was born in Altenhauslau, Germany, on November 9, 1948. In January of 1954, he immigrated to the United States with his mother, Christel Lemke Wolfe and step-father Dwight Wolfe, to live in Falmouth, KY. He graduated from Pendleton County High School and became a U.S citizen while in high school.

As a child, he made two forever friends, Clifford Hart and Bob Durham, who, along with his wife, sister, brother, niece, step-son and daughter-in-law, and grandsons, were at his side as he passed into his new journey.

Rűdiger served in the Coast Guard in the Florida Keys. He lived in Louisville during late 60/early 70’s, participating in Actor’s Theater and Shakespeare in The Park. He was proud of his work to register blacks to vote.

Rűdiger met the love of his life, Kathy Yelton, in 1984 when they were both attending NKU as non-traditional students, where they both graduated. Rűdiger went on to UK, pursuing a PhD until he became disgruntled with academia.

Rűdiger and Kathy formed a one-of-a-kind duo that adventured, traveled to and lived internationally, built a house (it only took 3 years), gardened and entertained. Neither of them ever met a stranger, which enhanced anything they did. Their bucolic life together was rich, diverse and always interesting. An unpublished poet, his muses were Kathy, their pets and nature. Rűdiger was a renaissance man in many ways.
