William E. Ewing, 76, died on Dec. 31, 1975, at Singing River Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi. Funeral services were held on January 3, 1976, at 10 a.m. at the Foley Chapel of the Bayview Funeral Home, with the Rev. William Wallace officiating. Burial was at Shell Bank Cemetery.
Ewing is survived by five daughters and three sons. They are: Mrs. Bula E. Hudson, Moss Point, Mississippi; Mrs. Lorette Slade, Chalmette, Louisiana; and Mrs. Lillie Ruth Shoemaker, Mrs. Julia Fay Rushing and Mrs. Ollie Jean Sprinkle, all of Bayou La Batre, Alabama. Sons are James L. Ewing, George Lee Ewing and William E. Ewing, Jr., all of Bayou La Batre, Alabama.
He is also survived by a sister, Mrs. Laura Callaway and a brother, Capt. H.L. Ewing, in Orange Beach, Alabama. He had 35 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
