The Hillsboro Lighthouse stands in the background. Before it is the Lake Placid School. It was a private boys school, not a military academy. The main school was in Lake Placid NY, but the winter term was held in Coconut Grove until the new Head Master Herbert Malcolm purchased the property next to the lighthouse, built the school and opened in 1925. It was only open for two years before Malcom turned it into the Hillsboro Club.
