Wrecked May 20, 1912.
The Armeria struck an uncharted rock off Cape Hinchinbrook on May 20, 1912, while supplying that station. The collision tore a hole in the hull, forcing Captain Gregory to beach the vessel. The steamer Admiral Sampson happened to be passing at the time and responded to the distress signals. The crew of the Armeria was taken aboard the Admiral Sampson and transported to Seattle.Entered by:
