I was escorting Lt. Heyward, Asst. Supervisor of Shipbuilding at Island Dock, Inc., W. L. Lana and John Schoonmaker representatives of Island Dock, Inc., over the ice on the Hudson River, south of our Lighthouse to United States Coast Guard Vessel "Mari-Rosa" which was standing by in the channel. Party boarded the vessel and after conferring with the Master returned to the Lighthouse. On the return trip I slipped and fell on the ice. At 3:30 a.m. the following day, he had a cerebral hemorrhage.
