Contact / Remarks

OIC (Keeper) Jerry Vosburgh, 1984-1986 had been to Hillsboro just prior to being promoted to the location. While doing a welding job in Jacksonville, FL, he found the bell in the USCG scrap yard. It was his contention that every lighthouse station needed a fog bell, so he purchased it and had it shipped to the grounds. It is currently placed on a piling, but plans are for a stand and clacker to be made that the bell can be rung.
