More Information

Comments:
The lights of the Cooper River and minor lights of Charleston Harbor were placed under the care of a keeper and an assistant starting in 1918. Prior to this, three keepers looked after three groups of lights. The dwelling for the keeper was at Mount Pleasant, while the assistant keeper lived in the dwelling on Sullivans Island.
