-1987 the Fresnel lens was removed replaced with a DCB-224
- Under the direction of Dan May, U.S.C.G. RADM (retired) the USLHS and crew, the original 3 1/2 order Fresnel lens was removed from the Montauk lighthouse's museum and reinstalled in the lighthouse with a new Sealite LED. The restored lens was first lit on November 6, 2023
