Piney Point Light Station -
Historic Significance: Moderate. Piney Point Light Station is an early masonry tower, the third oldest brick tower in Maryland. The tower is the only squat (unusually broad base) shaped brick tower built in Maryland.
Historic Integrity: High. Other than Cove Point Light Station, Piney Point retains more associated station structures than any other light station in Maryland. The duplex keeper’s quarters, single family dwelling, oil house, and garage, are all in good condition. It is unusual for a light station with so many elements to remain relatively intact.
