This was added to the interior sashes of the Lantern. The glass did not arrive when he light began operation on 1907.03.08. It was only installed for a short period as it was not visible to passing ships, as the Cuban steamer BAYAMO struck the reef after not seeing the red flash on 1908.02.05. The light as it passed the red sector was too bright, obscuring the red glass. It was proposed to make the glass a different shade of red, or larger, but ultimately it was simply removed on 1908.03.15, and never brought up again.
